Psychologist renewal · California · checked August 30, 2026
Know what is complete—and what is still missing—before renewal month.
Enter credited CPD hours, not client or license information. The planner applies the Board's published activity caps and keeps one returning progress record only in this browser.

The total is only one of four checkpoints.
Subject hours are part of the 36-hour total, not eight additional hours. Enter the credited hours you can document for this renewal period. The Board decides what qualifies. The countdown uses California calendar dates, including while you travel.
Apply the cap before you count the total.
Use half-hour increments. The planner automatically limits each row to the Board-published cycle maximum.
What the planner enforces
Four checkpoints, then the evidence behind them.
36 hours biennially
An actively renewing California psychologist must complete 36 CPD hours in the renewal cycle.
At least two categories
Hours normally must come from at least two of the four activity categories. A new full ABPP certification is the published exception.
Two four-hour subjects
At least four hours must address laws and ethics and at least four must address cultural diversity and/or social justice as applied to psychology.
Four-year retention
Keep the activity-specific proof for at least four years. The Board conducts random audits.
The browser record is a planning summary, not proof. Keep transcripts, sponsor attendance records, service dates, syllabi, publication proof, and other evidence required for each activity somewhere appropriate and secure.
Controlling sources
Open the Board before you renew.
