Tools, reference and support for California MFTs.

Therapist Support is a free collection of practical things for California-licensed therapists — MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and psychologists. Calculators, rate research and plain-English notes on the parts of the job nobody trained you for. Built by a therapist. No account, nothing to buy.

The support part

Because most of this is learned from each other

Nobody teaches the business of a practice in graduate school. What most therapists know about rates, panels and paperwork they learned from a colleague in a hallway. This is an attempt to write some of that down.

Share what you know

Send a rate, a correction, or a thing that caught you out. It goes into the next update — credited or anonymous, your call.

Say when it is wrong

Rules change and figures go stale. Every message is read by a person, and corrections get made and dated.

Ask for what is missing

Most of what is here started as someone asking whether a thing existed. If you need a tool that is not here, say so.

How to read sources, dates and review notes

The labels describe source references. They do not certify accuracy or establish that a clinician, attorney, accountant or other professional reviewed the page.

Source links

The page links to several official or statutory references. Open the relevant source to inspect its scope and current text. Counting links does not document an editorial review.

Source notes

Use the citations and any dated evidence records to understand the support for a particular claim. This label does not say that the numbers are current or the narrative was reviewed.

Institution sources

Program and training summaries include information published by the institution. Confirm current details with the institution and follow the approval or accreditation sources it identifies.

Known gap

A limitation is identified on the page. Open the linked explanation to see what could not be established.

Page date is the recorded date for this page. It does not establish that every source was checked on that day. Dates attached to a source review apply only to the material and scope named in that review.

For maintained collections, inspect the Evidence Desk and the evidence records linked on the page. They identify sources, review dates, limitations and affected pages. A source check is not professional advice or an expert-review credential. Material corrections are recorded in What changed.

Two sites, two audiences

This one is for therapists. TherapyCalifornia is for the people looking for care.

Therapist Support covers licensure, training, insurance, money and the operational side of California practice. Its sibling project, TherapyCalifornia, gives California consumers plain-language mental-health guides, cost information and free tools. The separation is intentional: professional resources stay here, while client-facing explanations have a home written for the person seeking help.

Who checked these numbers

Built by a therapist, for California MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and psychologists. Free, and nothing on it is sold.

Calculators, rate research and plain-English notes on the parts of the job nobody trained you for. What is checked, how it is checked, and what is not sold here.

You should not have to work this part out on your own.

Once a month: free tools and apps worth having, better ways to run the admin side of a practice, what other California therapists are actually doing, and anything new here that might save you an afternoon.

About monthly. One click to leave. Never sold, never shared. The consent box is separate and unticked because California requires it — and because it should be.
