See the four separate checkpoints between today and a current, active license.

Renewal is not one checkbox. Timing, license status, payment and continuing education can each stop the path. This workspace keeps them separate and creates reminders on your device.

Your renewal workspace

Green in one card does not make the other cards green.

Use the public BBS license record and your own CE documentation. Do not enter a name, license number, employer, client information or certificate.

Private by design.Your entries stay in this browser unless you choose to download reminders or the current planning record. The page never submits a renewal and never uploads CE proof. Timing uses the California calendar date, even when you travel.
Hours documented in this renewal period

CE details never copy into Your Path. Reset below removes this renewal record.

The status fork

“Renewed” and “allowed to practice” are not synonyms.

Active

CE and timely renewal

Active licensees renew biennially with 36 CE hours, including six hours of law and ethics.

Inactive

No CE to renew; no practice

BBS says inactive licensees must renew every two years but may not practice, supervise or collect payment.

Delinquent

No grace period

If the expiration date passes, BBS says practice, supervision and payment collection must stop until the license is current and active.

Controlling sources

The workspace leads back to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences at every uncertain edge.

Rules checked August 31, 2026. Scheduled review: February 1, 2027, or sooner if BBS changes renewal, status, fee or CE instructions.

You should not have to work this part out on your own.

Once a month: free tools and apps worth having, better ways to run the admin side of a practice, what other California therapists are actually doing, and anything new here that might save you an afternoon.

About monthly. One click to leave. Never sold, never shared. The consent box is separate and unticked because California requires it — and because it should be.
