Three clocks run on every associate. This page reads them off your dates.
From 1 January 2027 the registration lives seven years and renews six times, and hours count only from the seven years before the Board receives your application (six years, five renewals and six years until then); the 3,000 hours need at least 104 weeks at no more than 40 in any seven days. Type four dates and a number and the page gives the hard stop, the renewals, the cutoff, the earliest application and the pace, under either set of rules.

Four dates and a number.
The issue date is on the registration; the first countable hour is the first post-degree hour under a supervisor (for an AMFT, practicum hours have their own rule); the application date is when the Board will receive the licensure application, not when you plan to sit the exam. Hours so far is the total your log shows.
The rule
Three clocks, one section each, for each license.
“The associate marriage and family therapist registration shall expire one year from the last day of the month in which it was issued.” Until 31 December 2026 it “may be renewed a maximum of five times” and not beyond six years. From 1 January 2027, as amended by AB 1598: “The registration may be renewed a maximum of six times. No registration shall be renewed or reinstated beyond seven years from the last day of the month during which it was issued.” B&P §4984.01(a),(d); the same change at §4996.28(c) (ASW) and §4999.100(d) (APCC). When no renewals remain, the statute names a subsequent registration number.
“Hours of experience shall not have been gained more than seven years prior to the date the application for licensure was received by the board,” with up to 500 hours of clinical experience from the supervised practicum exempt. §4980.43(c)(7), as amended by AB 1598; until 31 December 2026 the figure is six years. The ASW (§4996.23) and APCC (§4999.46) windows move from six years to seven on the same date.
“A minimum of 3,000 hours completed during a period of at least 104 weeks” and “a maximum of 40 hours in any seven consecutive days.” §4980.43(c)(1),(2); §4996.23(a),(d)(4),(5); §4999.46(c)(1),(2). The pace this page reports is the arithmetic of those two numbers on your dates.
Signed on 27 September 2026 as Chapter 528 of the Statutes of 2026, the bill makes the hours window seven years, the registration’s life seven years and its renewals six, from 1 January 2027, and adds a one-time, two-year hardship extension into one private-practice employer for a subsequent registration number. The 104 weeks and the 40-hour week do not change. We could not find Board guidance, as of 5 October 2026, on how the seventh year applies to a registration issued before 2027; check the Board’s site before you plan on it. The bill tracker quotes every section it amends.

Dates are computed in the browser from what is typed; nothing is stored or sent. The page applies the periods in the statute; whether a particular hour is countable is a question for the experience rules and your supervisor’s sign-off.
